Patch 0.3.4: Imbue, Carve and free upgrades

Patch 0.3.4 reworks how you improve your cards, makes Medea's starter cards stronger, and fixes a crash some graphics cards had with Medea's fireball.

In this update

Improving your cards

  • Capturing a Stronghold gives one free upgrade, of any card in your deck. You no longer pay to upgrade while standing on a Stronghold.
  • The Smith of Hephaestus upgrades a card for free, once a round. His other ability: Block 34.
  • Upgrading uses the usual card row: click a card and it is upgraded, with no Continue button.
  • New: Imbue. Beating a Lair gives a free Imbue as well as its 2 Blessings. Pick a card, then one of two keywords for its bottom half: Echo, Twofold, Phoenix, Fated, Aegis, Hydra or Pandora.
  • New at a conquered Oracle: Carve a card. For 6 Coins and 1 Blessing of its colour, the card loses its top half and its gem, and its bottom half needs no mana from then on. Once a turn.

On the map and in fights

  • The Grove at Eleusis shows the cards it puts back on your deck.
  • A ruin you have taken flies your flag, and its night glow goes out.
  • Spent Blessings that come back at the end of your turn gather in the middle of the screen, then fly home one by one.
  • A Boon now lands in its own seat in the tray.
  • Wall Spearmen level their spears at you while you block, then stab. The Citadel Captain stabs with his standard.
  • In a city fight, four or five defenders stand closer to the camera.
