Patch 0.3.5: a new opening, and every hero speaks

Patch 0.3.5 brings a new opening, where the map rises out of the sea. Aeneas and Odysseus now speak, so every hero has a voice. Online play gets a round of fixes.

In this update

The opening

  • A new opening: the map rises out of the sea tile by tile, with splashes, waves and a sunrise, and your hero lands on it.

Heroes

  • Aeneas now speaks, voiced by Christopher Caz. He has lines on the map and in fights, grunts when he strikes and gets hit, and subtitles in every language.
  • Odysseus now speaks, voiced by Kyle Ouellette. All four heroes have a voice.
  • Heroes are easier to hear. While one speaks, the music and sound effects get quieter, and voices are a little clearer.
  • On the hero screen, clicking the hero it opened on now plays their line too.
  • Aeneas's shield throw is smoother and a little faster, and the spinning shield is easier to follow.
  • Aeneas no longer raises his fists when you play a Block card. He stays in his guard and raises his shield when the blow lands.
  • Heroes hold their weapons more firmly through their attacks.

Online

  • You can invite a friend before a city fight, and the defenders are split between you.
  • You see the other player's card plays and payments.
  • A player who is only watching can no longer make your choices.
  • Walking waits for the other player's game, so routes no longer break.
  • Co-op no longer deals Athena's Whisper or Claim the Favour.

Fights and the map

  • With Labours on, an enemy's extra Armour and Attack now show before the fight: on the map, on the place card and in the city's enemy list.
  • Companions: you choose whether to pay with a Favour or from your reserves.
  • An enemy's Resistance shield shatters when it is removed.
  • The enemy piles show each enemy's abilities.
  • Market previews use the current card art.
  • The coast of the last tile is drawn properly.
  • New Credits tab in Settings: who made the game and who voices each hero.
