The Hounds of Hades

Two new enemies guard the dark places of the island: the Hound of Hades, and Cerberus, the three-headed hound above it. Turn your sound on.

The Hound of Hades

The howl, the bite, the shake and the fall.
  • A hellhound in chainmail, with red eyes and cracks of fire glowing through its hide.
  • Every sound is tied to a move. The howl rises with its head, barks land as the jaw opens, and it sniffs the air while it waits.
  • Hit it and it yelps. When it falls, it gives one last cry.
  • Between attacks it shakes itself out, chainmail rattling.

The Hound waits in a Lair. Win the fight and you take 2 random Blessings. Lose, and it stays there for your next try.

Cerberus

Three heads, one howl. Then the bite, the fire, and the end.
  • Three heads in bronze helmets. When one barks, howls or bites, the other two answer.
  • His skin is cracked like cooling lava. The cracks pulse from his chest, dark red to yellow.
  • Fire rings each paw and embers rise off his back.
  • His voice is the Hound's, deeper and rougher, with fire under the howl.
  • When he dies, he breaks apart into fire.

Cerberus: three heads in bronze helmets, lava cracks in his skin

Cerberus takes the place of the fire beast. He has Armour 7 and a Fire attack of 8, and he halves both your Physical and your Fire attacks. You can meet him at a Beasts camp, in a Barrow, or in Ruins a beast has taken. What you win depends on where: Zeus' Law at a camp, a Relic and a Spell in a Barrow, a Relic in the Ruins.
